Bird Feeders for Spring

Today we broke out an easy craft that always makes my kids smile...Cheerios  bird feeders!
Fun and easy to make, minimal supplies, great activity afterwards to watch them enjoyed by birds and squirrels as well!

What you’ll need:

Pipe cleaners- 1 per bird feeder
Cheerios or any O cereal that you have (stale is ok birdied don’t mind)
Ribbon or string if you have it

That’s it!

Steps:
1) Bend a pipe cleaner at one end and string Cheerios onto it ;not fully loaded so you have room to bend it and twist ends shut

2) eat your share of dry Cheerios ;)-

3) twist ends of pipe cleaner together and create a shape with your pipe cleaner I.e. circle, heart, diamond ...letters. You can also create several shapes and link them together like a small chain!

4) Add small string or ribbon as a loop hanger to hang feeder to tree

5) Hang your feeders on a tree or bush- ideally a spot you can see fro inside a window so you can wat has birds and squirrels enjoy your treats!

We’ve made these several times and always enjoy doing it. It makes a great afternoon craft that gets us outside too!
