Brave mom

I did what I should, I drove you to school as you were in semi-tears and hugged you with a brave face on.

I told you I love you,to be brave, and sent you on your way.

I cried myself,

You recovered,

I went home & cleaned.

I watched you on the playground later, for a second from afar; 

You walked with your friend,

I studied you to see if you were ok.

You came off the bus smiling with a no big deal demeanor.

I squeezed you tight and breathed for the first time all day ...

You drew I love mom with a stick in the snow,

I cried happy tears.

I love you too.
